Government College for Elementary Teachers (W) Vehari, now known as the University of Education Vehari Campus, was established in January 1998. The institution aimed to provide training and practicum to both in-service teachers and prospective teachers. From its inception, it focused mainly on teacher education, initiating programs that would enhance teaching skills and professional competency.

Transition to University of Education
In August 2002, after the establishment of the University of Education, Lahore, this institution was renamed the University College of Education Vehari. On September 09, 2006, it was granted the status of a Campus of the University of Education, Lahore. Since then, it has been offering new programs alongside courses specifically aimed at teacher education, committed to providing quality education and meeting modern trends in global education.
